Specialties for Electro Slag Remelting (ESR)

Electro Slag Remelting (ESR) is a continuous process, where during the remelting of a consumable electrode, refining and solidification of the steel occur simultaneously. Either cast, rolled or forged ingots can be used as a consumable electrode.

During the ESR an electrode is beeing immersed into the previously molten slag, where the slag heat gradually melts the tip of the electrode. Liquefied steel is dripping and solidifies on the water cooled mould.

We offer a vast variety of high quality pre-fused slags for the Electro Slag Remelting process. Also customized qualities (SiO2 addition, special sieving, etc.) can be offered. For more detailed information, please follow the link below or contact us directly.

Silicon Nitride (Si3N4)

For certain special steel grades with high Nitride (N) content, a certain additive is needed. Therefore we offer Silicon Nitride (Si3N4), suitable to be used as additive product during the ESR process. For more information on this product, please contact us directly.
